Q: What is Hintha Business Centres?

A: Hintha Business Centres is part of Anthem Asia, an independent investment and advisory group focused on building sustainable businesses in Myanmar.

Since 2013, Hintha Business Centres has provided international-standard executive serviced offices. Our office spaces are fully-equipped and they combine modern amenities with Myanmar design elements. Our flagship centre Hintha@Merchant Street is located at 608 Merchant Road, Pabedan Township.

Our second centre Hintha@Sule Square opened in 2016 at the Grade-A Sule Square commercial and retail complex.

Q: Why did you choose the Hintha as your symbol?

A: Hintha Business Centres is named after the Hintha (or Hamsa) bird. The Hintha is a symbol of the city of Bago, a former capital of Myanmar.

An ancient story tells of two Hintha birds flying during a flood. The only place they could find to rest was a small rock poking above the flood waters. The male bird landed on the rock. The female followed and stood on his back. Together they waited until the waters subsided.

The imagery of the two “partner” birds, one supporting the other, mirrors our values in seeking to support new businesses and organizations entering the Myanmar market.

Q: What are your fees?

A: Liked serviced apartments, serviced offices come with a range of services and facilities. You will pay only what you use.

Our renting fee includes a number of complimentary services, such as: access to informal business lounges & meeting rooms; private and secure Wifi internet connections; refreshments and access to pantry facilities; rates & utilities including daily cleaning; onsite security.

Q: How fast is your internet?

A: Hintha Business Centres provide secure, reliable and high-speed wifi internet connections at both centres.

Hintha@Sule Square: Internet connections provided by Frontiir (20 Mbps); MPT (10 Mbps).

Hintha@Merchant Street: Internet connections provided by Yadanarpon Teleport (20 Mbps); MPT (10 Mbps).

Additional landline connection available on request.

Q: How is a serviced office different from a regular office?

A: A serviced office is fully-furnished and ready to use from day 1. You will not have to worry about setting up your own internet connection, printer or hiring competent office management staff. Utility bills are also included in our service fees.

An additional advantage is that you can rent as much space as you need for as long as you need – daily, monthly or yearly.

Q: What is the difference between a serviced office and coworking space? Are you an incubator for start-ups?

A: Hintha Business Centres provides both serviced offices and coworking areas. Serviced offices are private offices, ideal for multinational firms, companies and non-governmental organisations.

Our coworking areas provide desk spaces in a spacious shared environment. You can reserve your own personal desk (dedicated desk) or come in whenever you need (coworking desk). Coworking is ideal for short-term business visitors, private consultants and freelancers.

Our open coworking areas promote networking among our tenants. However, unlike coworking space in big cities such as Singapore or New York, Hintha Business Centres does not yet organise events or mentorship programs.

Q: Why does Yangon need a business centre? Why not a regular office?

A: Executive serviced offices & coworking spaces are a common feature in every major city, from London to New York and Singapore.

Serviced offices provide flexible lease terms. This means that companies can rent as much space as they need for as long as they need without making a long-term capital investment on leasing office space.

A serviced office provides a range of complimentary services, such as cleaning, secretarial services and onsite security. Companies can access all these services without increasing their overhead cost.

All these services are highly requested in Yangon and Myanmar, where international companies and organisations are establishing a business presence but they are not sure of their long-term requirements.

Q: What are your office hours?

A: Office hours are Mon-Fri, 9am to 6pm. Our Clients have 24/7 access to our centres, with onsite security and CCTV cameras.

Q: Which utilities are included?

A: Electricity & water bills; Internet; cleaning and security; office maintenance costs. There is no gas on the premises.

Q: Can I sign a lease before my business is registered in Myanmar?

A: Our lease agreements must be signed by a legal entity, whether it is foreign or locally-owned. O,n some occasions additional references and credit checks may be required.

Q: Please explain your power and backup provision.

A: Electricity in Myanmar can be expensive and unreliable. We have backup generators at both our centres which are automatically actioned in case of power outage.

Q: What is your provision in case of fire?

A: We understand the need to provide a safe and healthy work environment to our Clients. Hintha Business Centres works with Yangon City fire authorities and conducts regular fire drills. We have clear signage, fire alarms, fire escape routes, fire extinguishers and fire hose. Information is displayed throughout our centres.

Q: What is the minimum length of lease?

A: Our office spaces are available on an hourly, monthly and yearly basis. For private serviced offices, the minimum length of stay is one (1) month.

Q: Are the offices sound-proofed?

A: Yes, the partitioning is fully sound-proofed.

Q: Can I lease your meeting rooms if I’m not a resident Client?

A: Yes, anyone can rent our meeting facilities.

Q: Are your meeting rooms equipped?

A: Our meeting rooms are equipped with videoconferencing, AV projectors, whiteboards and flip charts.

Q: Do you offer catering?

A: Yes, Hintha Business Centres provides a range of catering options, from business lunches to light refreshments and takeaways.

If you are hosting a business meeting, we provide catering from a range of selected international restaurants with complimentary mineral water and tea/coffee.

Each centre is also furnished with pantry facilities and tenants may prepare their lunch there. Our coffee corners are stocked with snacks, fresh fruit, soft drinks and breakfast items. We also help our clients order their lunch and have it delivered to their office.

Q: What is your Administrative Support?

Q: Can I stay ‘anonymous’ in the centre? I don’t want to advertise my company name.

A: Yes, you can. There is no obligation to put your company name on any centre or office sign board. Your presence may remain fully confidential.
